A whole new generation is taking over fashion by storm – but a tender, soft, cuddly storm. As a fashion enthusiast, having a toddler is a glamour-filled treat! Don’t believe me? Hear me out.
To go gaga over cute outfits and pairing them with quirky accessories, is a fashion adventure in itself, and since my baby girl Athena was born, I shop every other day. I love to dress her up, do her hair, and capture every moment.
This week, I decided to try out a store we had not been to before. We headed to REDTAG for our shopping spree, and, oh my, what a range they have! Their 2018 spring and summer collection is out, and every single outfit is drool-worthy. The mint hues and crisp whites work perfectly for a spring wardrobe, and the beautiful floral shorts and skirts, patterned dresses, striped jumpsuits, and denim pieces were too cute to resist. There was so much to choose from, that I started experimenting with five different looks: chic, playful, girly, vivid, and boss babe.
And…I picked up 5 different looks, along with shoes and a few hair accessories – all for 100 dollars!! Here they are:
I picked up a chic royal blue jumpsuit to add that extra bit of royal-ness that she already carries in her own cute way.
Playful and mix-matched yellow dotted crisp shirt with floral shorts, which is perfect for any outdoor fun activity.
Oh, this one’s my favourite, look at these little palazzo pants. Beautifully flowing along and comfy for her to play and explore nature.
Can anything be more girly and vivid than unicorns and tartans? Midi skirts always work and they are my all-time favourite.
And the lady-like knee length dresses, screamed boss babe and made my heart skip a beat.
While it is a fashion-filled adventure to shop for toddlers, it can also be a bit challenging in picking outfits because kids outgrow them in months, so shop wisely. Here are some tips I find useful:
1. Always play with patterns, prints and textures, because your toddler can carry it and look adorable – they are born with it.
2. Don’t buy randomly, always buy an outfit. This way, you have enough clothes to mix and match.
3. Don’t forget to buy the shoes. They complete the look.
4. Accessorize the outfit – very important and honestly who can resist the cutest, pins, hats, caps, and bands?
5. Last but not least, keep your budget in check. Always have a set budget and then shop.
So, mummies and daddies, what are you waiting for? Pick up your favorite outfits, play dress up with your bubs, REDTAG has it all.
